纽伯瑞儿童文学奖（Newbery Medal），又称纽伯瑞奖。纽伯瑞奖（The Newbery Medal for Best Children’s Book）是由美国图书馆学会（American Library Association – ALA）的分支机构—— 美国图书馆儿童服务学会(Association for Library Service to Children – ALSC)于1922年为留念纽伯瑞而创设的奖项。

1744年英国印刷商人纽柏瑞先生首开习尚，将儿童出版物上，加写‘文娱’两个字，他为儿童规划的榜首本书，书名叫：美丽小书，这是世界上榜首本专门的儿童书，并开办了世界上榜首家专门的儿童书店。

从此他不断改进，印刷发行了许多精巧的儿童图书，深受儿童喜爱，因为他打破其时保存的习尚，崇尚的“高兴至上”的儿童教育观念，拓荒英美儿童文学之路，所以后人称纽柏瑞为——儿童文学之父，纽柏瑞的奉献关于儿童文学，可以说是个重要的里程碑。
